The Procurement Manager will support the construction teams in purchasing materials and supplies. This position is responsible for managing the 3 rd party firm as they handle all procurement for new construction. The position acts as a primary point of contact between the client and suppliers by the procurement company. The manager needs to be organized, forward-thinking, and process minded. They will closely partner with the facilities, project management, construction, and Franchising Development Manager to implement purchasing processes, mitigate risk and leverage project pipeline to decrease material costs. Role and Responsibilities
- Negotiate contracts for operating supplies and equipment (OS&E)
- Manage the relationship with 3 rd party vendors and serve as a conduit for all procurement information.
- Manage the procurement for corporate and franchise turnkey.
- Assist operations in establishing materials sent for the opening hotels.
- Create and maintain project specific Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Review SOW and prepare project purchasing schedule according to lead times and deadlines.
- Completes project purchase orders and ensures timely delivery of quality materials.
- Review and submit procurement vendor invoices to AP and track progress to payments.
- Coordinate logistics for all delivery (JIT, warehouse and on property storage)
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure the entire range of quality levels, production requirements and contractual obligations are met.
- Identify, prioritize, and resolve lead time and production issues.
- Responsible for material expediting, identifying any potential late product and mitigating risk of not having materials at the time of project start.
- Assist in review of samples, seaming diagrams, and shop drawings.
- Manage damage & loss claims and the freight claim database.
- Conduct project closeouts including accounting, providing maintenance and warranty information to the property.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- 3-5 years of procurement, sourcing or contracting experience. Strongly preferred hotel experiences
- Experience in the hospitality or lodging industry is preferred.
- Team player with the ability to manage and work independently.
- Ability to manage a multitude or priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Keene attention to detail
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Must be flexible to manage multiple parallel tasks, where priorities and deadlines shift frequently.
- Expert in Microsoft Excel. Exposure to writing macros is a plus.
- Experience working within a “growth environment” for a firm going through heavy expansion would be plus.
