AMS DataSerfs is seeking a talented and motivated individual looking to pursue a career as Network Administrator in Mountain View, CA. We are seeking a candidate who has experience with Networking in a mixed on-prem Linux, Windows Server and cloud infrastructure, is a self-starter and eager to learn and work in a large, complex environment.
You will be working in a team designing, building, migrating and maintaining a fast-growing development environment for our client, a large fortune 50 company, consisting of physical and virtual machines and Network Storage connected through high speed LAN/WAN switches and routers. You will work closely with local and remote IT teams.
The basic scope is to create, improve and support the network environment as well as active developers who interact with these systems on some level, mostly through applications or interactively. You need to be familiar with all the necessary fundamental network services as well as deploy and upgrade the environment. You will be responsible for applying security patches and configuration changes within maintenance windows.
The following duties may be assigned as necessary:
- Rack and configure routers, switches, and other network devices.
- Assist with server hardware installation and/or replacement.
- Cabling network equipment to infrastructure systems.
- Monitor network performance, integrity, and suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.
- Perform routine network maintenance, including installing software upgrades and troubleshooting issues or outages.
- Troubleshoot customer tickets related to lab network environments
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of three (3) years previous work in an IT position
- Comprehensive understanding of network services and routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
- In-depth understanding, practical knowledge, and hands-on with networking systems such as LAN, firewalls, routers, and load balancers
- Understanding other networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, LACP, NIC teaming/bonding, unicast/broadcast/multicast, DNS, DHCP, etc) for troubleshooting.
- Ability to work efficiently and within a team environment.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify any issues, and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Arista EOS API
- Python, PowerShell or Bash scripting
- Experience with OpenGear out of band devices
- 0-25% travel within the US

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
