POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in dance classes to ensure implemention of high quality Performing Arts program. North Suburban School of Dance Instructors are professionally trained dancers invested in sharing their passion for the art with young dancers. Instructors should lead by example in areas such as punctuality, responsibility, motivation, and professionalism.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Effectively designs and implements cirriculums appropriate for age, level, and style
- Plans progressive lesson plans for daily activities to enhance student experience
- Record and maintain attendance records
- Prepare studio for class as needed
- Complete all assigned tasks relating to class, including but not limited to recital sheets, costume selection, student placements
- Enforce all NSSOD and NSYMCA policies and procedures
- Choreograph one recital dance per class for year end performance
- Attend all required staff meetings as scheduled
- Perform other duties as assigned
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certified within 90 days of hire
- Complete annual training as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Degree in dance or equivelant experience
- Displays exceptional interpersonal skills and high level of customer service
- Excellent problem solving and personal initiative
- Willing to work late/flexible hours
- Transportation required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time.
- Position may require bending, lifting, kneeling, walking and running, and demonstrating techniques.
- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
- Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper skill techniques.
- Ability to lift and move equipment.
