The primary role of the Patient Access Specialist/Intake Coordinator is to begin the admission process for patients that are referred for OT, PT, and Speech Therapy services. They also assist with obtaining authorizations, creating caseloads, and serving as a liaison between referred patients and therapists.
MUST understand and speak Spanish fluently.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Be primary point of contact for all intake and referrals.
· Obtain all required intake paperwork needed to facilitate smooth admission processes.
· Coordinate with team to schedule new clients for assessments and admission.
· Follows up with families and referral sources until the admission process is completed.
· Manage and update client waiting list appropriately and effectively.
· Track clients' status in pipeline.
· Coordinate with billing department regarding clients' eligibility/benefits.
· Coordinate with operations and clinical team regarding start of services.
· Assist with other administrative duties as assigned and need be.
· Adheres to company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
· Demonstrate an ability to identify and solve problems; uses initiative and good judgment to reach quality decisions.
· Work closely with office staff to promote positive/effective communication to ensure appropriate client care.
