Job Title: Senior Cloud Engineer
Client: Federal Agency
Location: DC (Remote)
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Implement a data pipeline, data sharing platform, and analytics services with various levels of curation, from raw data to highly structured data for reporting, leveraging the existing EDMAS data warehouse and Tableau systems.
- Design and develop a solution that provides the ability for skilled users to perform artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) enabled research
- Integrate with existing federal systems and obtain regular data feeds from multiple internal data sources of record, to provide a seamless user experience through a “single pane of glass”.
- Incorporate DevSecOps techniques to ensure CI/CD pipeline is implemented, maintained, and managed.
- Implement role-based access controls (RBAC), user groups, (administrative functions and capabilities), and privileges to restrict system access based on job responsibilities
- Use Confluence and Jira including the templates that NHTSA has created forstandardization
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline. This position requires a minimum of 8 years of experience of which at least 5 years must be specialized.
- Strong understanding of cloud engineering methods, applications, and best practices across cloud service providers
- Experience with AWS: Glue, Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS and DynamoDB
- Experience with: Python, Java, Java Script, C#, Ruby
- Competent with supporting DevSecOps techniques in a CI/CD setting.
- Familiarity with best security practices including: Zero Trust Architecture, secure coding, encrypting sensitive data before and after transmission, and secure authorization and authentication systems.
Nice to have’s:
• The following certifications are preferred: AWS Developer, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Data Engineer, Azure Administrator, Azure Developer, Azure Data Engineer
• Prior experience working at Department of Transportation
• Current security clearance
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $121,182.39 - $177,940.09 per year
