Overview:
The Assistant Branch Manager/Universal Banker has a dual-role position designed to provide comprehensive customer service and support branch operations. This role involves assisting the Branch Manager in overseeing branch activities, driving sales, and managing staff, while also performing teller and personal banker functions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service and Relationship Management
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers with their banking needs.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues and ensure a positive banking experience.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships to foster loyalty and drive retention.
- Promote and cross-sell bank products and services based on customer needs.
2. Teller and Banking Services:
- Perform duties related to teller operations, such as cash handling, deposits, withdrawals, and check processing. Ensure that cash drawer is balanced daily, vault is balanced daily, issues Cashier’s Checks, prepare Currency Transaction Report (CTR), operates coin machine, processes daily Branch Capture and mobile deposit items. Process wire transfers, foreign checks, and change orders.
- Open and manage customer accounts, including checking, savings, CDs and safe deposit boxes.
- Assist customers with online banking and mobile banking services.
- Ensure accuracy and efficiency in all transactions.
3. Operations Management:
- Oversee daily branch operations, including teller activities, account management and transaction processing.
- Ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in auditing branch operations and maintaining accurate records.
4. Team Leadership and Development:
- Assist in training new employees and developing ongoing training programs.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration.
- Act as the branch manager in their absence.
5. Administrative Duties:
- Assist with branch schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and effective staff allocation.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve operations issues and streamline processes.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Education: High school diploma required; some college preferred
Experience: minimum of 3-5 years of banking experience, with least 1-2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in banking software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
Work Schedule:
Full Time, approximately 40 hours per week. Variable hours between 8:00am – 5:00 pm
Monday through Friday.
No weekends!
