Mission Statement: The mission of First Odessa Christian Academy is to boldly teach Biblical truth, Christian character, and rigorous academic curriculum in a safe and nurturing learning environment.

Responsibilities:
First Odessa Christian Academy is seeking a part-time music teacher. The ideal candidate would have teaching experience in some or all of the following areas: Junior High and High School Choral Music, Junior High and High School Guitar, Piano, and Elementary Music.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Have a working knowledge of Elementary, Junior High, and High School music.
Be able to perform maintenance on all musical instruments.
Have knowledge of audio recording equipment.
Have a fundamental knowledge of other specific music performance related technology.
Be able to plan and execute music performances each year.
Is a born-again believer and subscribes without reservation to the Statement of Faith, Philosophy of Education, and the provisions set forth in the Bylaws of First Odessa Christian Academy.
Acts as a Christian role model in the school and the community and is a member in good standing of a local Christian church whose doctrine is in agreement with the First Odessa Christian Academy Statement of Faith.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and a Teaching Certification in the field of music, band, and/or orchestra
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years experience teaching music with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all constituents.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and computer skills are required.
- Collaborates well with colleagues.
- Promotes the use of multiple methods in solving problems, identifying more efficient strategies and generalizing principles to a broad variety of applications.
- Encourages collaborative teamwork in the classroom, teaching students to communicate effectively and thoughtfully, justify their reasoning and to consider multiple perspectives when solving problems.
- Invests in the life of the school by participating in trainings, social and emotional learning, department meetings, and team meetings.
- Demonstrate professional behavior, including discretion, judgment and integrity.
