Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatric Medical Director to join our West Palm Beach Center. The Medical Director provides clinical leadership necessary to achieve Florida Healthcare System, lnc. mission and objectives in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer and staff. He/she supports the policies and procedures, rules and regulations of the facility. Assists with the overall Medical Quality management of the facility, providing leadership and guidance for physicians, allied staff, and facility's clinical staff.
Responsibilities:
1. Assists in periodic review and revision of policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
2. Meets required hours in accordance with contract agreement.
3. Works collaboratively with Chief Executive Officer, Clinical Director
4. Adheres to and ensures facility policies and procedures.
5. Abides by all safety/risk, infection control, and other guidelines as required.
6. Assists in ensuring State and Federal regulations, and Joint commission standards are met and maintained.
7. Provides Professional Counseling Action(s) for non-compliance of physicians.
8. Participates quarterly in Performance Improvement Team meetings.
9. Participate in staff meetings at least once per week.
10. Participate in the formulation and review of Agency policies and procedures and reviews at least annually.
11. Participate in the formulation of a community resource network to ensure continuum of care for patients upon discharge from the program
12. Serves as liaison to community hospitals, physicians and other mental health professionals.
13. Provides in-service education for clinical employees as requested.
14. Provides in-service education to the community as requested.
15. Acts as chairperson and participates in agency quality assurance and utilization review activities.
16. Conducts peer reviews as appropriate.
17. Works with key clinic and administrative staff regarding matters of program development and major policy issues.
18. Provide on-call coverage at all times to coordinate any medical or psychiatric needs of patients.
19. Coordinate schedules of internal medicine specialists or other medical referrals as needed.
20. Perform or supervise appropriate designee in performing psychiatric evaluation for patients admitted to PHP.
21. Provide supervision for clinical activities as designated by patient's individual treatment plan.
22. Ensure completion of physician's progress note.
23. Assures appropriateness for recertification of patients for continuing services.
24. Available to patients / family / guardians upon request.
25. Possess skills in integrated individual treatment approaches into treatment milieu.
26. Possess good working relationships with other health care professionals, physicians and psychiatric staff.
Skills:
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
- Knowledge of DCF Regulations.
- Knowledge of Medicare Guidelines.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards.
- Demonstrates proficiency in Verbal & Written Communication Skills.
- Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality Laws.
- Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies.
- Knowledge of Workplace Violence.
- Knowledge of Corporate Integrity & Compliance Program
Requirements:
Education: Graduated from an accredited Medical School or School of Osteopathic Medicine; is a Board-Certified or Board- Eligible Psychiatrist.
Experience: A minimum of one-year experience in a partial hospitalization program serving in an administrative function preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice medicine (M.D. or D.O.) in the state of Florida. Board certified or Board eligible as a psychiatrist.
