Commitment Dates: August 1, 2024- August 31st, 2025
Position Summary: AmeriCorps Stability Mentors support pregnant and parenting women formerly experiencing homelessness who are now housed in a loving, caring environment at Maggie’s Place in Phoenix, Arizona.
As a live-out AmeriCorps member, you will be an integral member of the staff team at one of our five Maggie's Place homes. Live-out AmeriCorps will support the live-in staff, providing house coverage including some evenings and weekends, and 2-3 overnight shifts a month.
Members manage the day-to-day operations of the home and take initiative in a variety of situations that range from a mom going into labor, to roommate conflicts, to showing hospitality to visitors and new community members. Using a trauma-informed care approach, they create a safe, welcoming, home-like environment for the moms so moms can focus on achieving their goals.
This role allows for flexible scheduling, but must be available for full day on Monday for weekly trainings, team meetings, and community night programming in the home (10AM-9PM) and biannual retreat (Tuesday-Friday) in October and April.
There are full-time or part-time positions available. Part-time positions will serve about half of the time as full-time positions and the stipend will be adjusted accordingly.
