General:
The individual working in this role will be responsible for a host of engineering projects, across a wide spectrum of disciplines. They will be working with specialists across a variety of departments and learning about each major operation at Axium. This position will primarily require relocation after 90 days to the Columbus, OH facility. Relocation expenses will be provided.
Responsibilities:
Physical Infrastructure:
- Work with internal team and external general contractor (GC) on new plant Greenfields / expansions
- Ensure timelines for project buildout are tracking to original plan
- Work with variety of teams and local city reps to make sure permits are completed
- Liaison and design between internal plant operations and GC on plant buildout and requirements (mainly working with internal team of engineers on this)
- Look at existing plant operations and area’s for improvement, engineering solutions for these changes and managing the timeline for these to be implemented
Operational:
- Review current workflow processes and areas to improve (value stream mapping and engineering finance)
- Review, design and implement opportunities for automation in current operations
- Work with internal Industry team and SAP team to help integrate production, workflow and engineering into digitalized format
- Work on new projects for customers from concept, engineering and development – all the way through production qualification – ensuring all requirements for packaging needs are met and timelines maintained
R&D / Innovation:
- Benchmark workflows from across other industries / plants to help drive change in internal operations
- Look for engineering material solutions to help in development of new packaging for our customers
- Review opportunities to change internal operations
- Review new production equipment and innovation across various departments – improvement in connectivity, production efficiency or quality improvements.
Experience/Education:
- Knowledge or experience using 2D CAD Software
- Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Degree or similar.
