Primarily responsible for programming PLCs, electrical maintenance repairs and installations, equipment troubleshooting and assisting with repairs. Complete duties in a safe, sanitary and efficient manner. An employee working in this area is expected to operate as a member of a team, which includes assisting one another as needed.
Programming
-
Install programs, or repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers

Maintain integrity of the PLC automation servers and PLC processors
-
Troubleshoot and modify ladder logic programs on Allen Bradley processors using RSLogix 500 and 5000 software
-
Develop a strategy for PLC automation support which includes training of operators
-
Responsible for integration of specialized hardware and software into manufacturing systems to enhance automation and control with an emphasis on efficiency
Electrical
-
Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment

Responsible for creating and maintaining effective electrical preventive maintenance procedures and schedules
-
Maintain machinery, meeting maintenance requirements for 480-volt, 3 phase systems, and minimizing downtime will be necessary
Troubleshooting
-
Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with fellow employees to diagnose problem or repair machine

Support, troubleshoot, improve, and maintain high-speed production and packaging machinery
Additional Responsibilities

Previous Experience Requirement
-
Must have a minimum of three years of experience working with, electrical controls systems, PLC’s and HMI programming
-
Previous experience troubleshooting and programming PLC ladder logic
-
Previous electrical experience voltages ranging from 24v to 480v 3 phase
-
Experience troubleshooting AC/DC drives and high-speed computer controlled production machinery
-
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints.

Experience installing conduit and pulling wire to code.
Knowledge and Skills Needed to Perform Effectively in this Position

Knowledge of control circuitry, PLC’s and Programming also have the ability to analyze and troubleshoot control circuits of complex design.

Knowledge of the proper use of a multimeter.

Knowledge of current safety policies and machine directives like NFPA, OSHA regulations, and industrial processes.

Familiar with standard communication protocols, (Ethernet IP, Sercos, Ethercat, and Powerlink) concepts, practices, and procedures related to the motion automation field.

Ability to understand and perform basic math calculations.

Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, diagrams and equipment specifications is required.
