CERTIFIED MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST
JOB SUMMARY: The Medical Laboratory Technologist shall perform tests and procedures which require the exercise of independent judgement and responsibility with minimal supervision. Devises plans, organizes, and directs most aspects of the laboratory department in the clinic. Performs routine tests used in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires full range of motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Frequent standing and walking required for extended periods of time. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires visual acuity and normal color perception.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Certification as a Medical Lab Technologist (ASCP).
Our ideal candidate has 1 year of experience as a medical lab technologist under their belt.

The Lab Tech should pride themselves on their attention to detail. Accuracy is imperative to ensure the effective transfer of information from the patient, to processing, and the receiving parties. The data that will be collected is information that is vital to the treatment, future diagnosis, and can directly affect the outcome of the patient.
The Lab Tech will be assisting with a variety of tasks as it pertains to the lab processes, including but certainly not limited to the following:
· This position is responsible for remaining current on laboratory methods and trends, as well as initiating test procedures and methodology.
· Identify, study, and recommend solutions for lab service problems.
· Assist in managing laboratory services in accordance with the clinic and governmental standards.
· Prepare solutions, reagents and stains. Uses correct standard laboratory procedures and accurate laboratory test analysis.
· Maintain quality of patient care and plan with the administration and medical staff in relation to the care of patients.
· Ensure that equipment and facilities are in proper condition for use in delivering health care.
· Conduct proper quality control procedures.
· Perform routine medical laboratory testing procedures.
· Maintain the utmost patient confidentiality.
· Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing to perform quality control checks and troubleshoot instrumentation.
· Understands safety requirements and recognizes hazardous conditions.
· Anticipates and reacts appropriately to emergency situations.
