Our team in Charlotte currently has an opening for a Lab Tech Supervisor
Job Summary:
This is a role for someone who is intimately familiar with functional blends and premixes used in the food industry. The right person will have hands on experience with formulating blends of gums and textural stabilizers used in food applications such as dairy, bakery, beverages, processed foods, pet foods. The role primarily entails working with sales, formulating new blends based on customer needs, validating blend functionality in finished product applications, defining blend specifications and testing criteria, assisting operations in scaling up benchtop blend recipes to full scale production. The candidate will be familiar with general consumer trends, food regulations, and all basic food safety protocols. and must be able to communicate effectively with technical and commercial team members. In this role, the candidate will have high visibility as part of the broader Colony Gums-Brenntag’s ‘Innovation and Applications’ team.
Project types could include creating competitive matches, cost reduction, innovative functional blends.

Education and Experience:

B.S. of M.S. Degree, Food Science

5-10 years of work experience in a food company specializing in mixing & blending hydrocolloids and other functional ingredients

Hands-on dry blend formulation experience
- Knowledge of food processing and operations
