Join our team as a Registered Nurse (RN) and utilize your skills to deliver exceptional direct patient care. You will be responsible and accountable for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating care for assigned patients, following the Department of Nursing standards and hospital policies. Your role includes diagnosing and treating health problems, providing health education, and supporting patient well-being. You will also supervise care provided by LPNs, RNPs, nursing attendants, technicians, and supplemental staff.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Assessment and Care Planning
- Assess the immediate and ongoing care needs of patients and their significant others.
- Develop comprehensive, current care plans addressing physical, educational, discharge, and psychosocial/spiritual needs.
Direct Patient Care
- Provide direct patient care based on assessed needs and medical regimens.
- Ensure the provision of all aspects of patient care and supervise care provided by other nursing personnel.
Patient Observation and Communication
- Observe, evaluate, document, and communicate patient responses to illness and treatments.
- Ensure timely reassessment of patient responses to treatment and significant changes in condition or diagnosis.
Care Coordination
- Coordinate overall care plans to ensure nursing interventions align with medical regimens.
- Establish care priorities in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and ensure timely patient care and therapeutic interventions.
- Integrate age-specific care needs into the plan of care.
Accountability and Quality Improvement
- Accept responsibility and accountability for nursing interventions and outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement activities related to patient care and the development of nursing/hospital standards.
Effective Communication and Stress Management
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and manage stressful situations appropriately.
- Facilitate interpersonal relationships with other disciplines.
Qualifications
- Education: BSN
- Licensure: Current NYS RN license
- Experience: 3 -5 years’ critical care experience in a Level I Trauma Center
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
- Skills: Strong communication, critical thinking, and stress management skills. Ability to supervise and coordinate care effectively.
