Description: We are in need of a person to work in the classroom under the direct guidance of a teacher. This position will work with students. You will assist in classroom modifications, communication with staff, provide structure and feedback, and work with other students as assigned.

Job Description:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities.
- Supervise and engage with students during classroom activities, recesses, and lunchtime.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need extra help with assignments or understanding concepts.
- Assist with classroom management by reinforcing positive behavior and redirecting disruptive behavior when necessary.
- Help prepare materials and resources for lessons, including setting up learning centers and organizing educational materials.
- Assist with maintaining a safe and clean classroom environment.
- Support students with personal care tasks, such as bathroom breaks and handwashing.
- Assist with assessments and record-keeping, including tracking student progress and maintaining student records.
- Communicate regularly with the lead teacher (GenEd/SpEd) regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Provide additional support during special events, field trips, and assemblies.
- Collaborate with other staff members to meet the individual needs of students and support the overall goals of the kindergarten program.

- Demonstrate exemplary behavior for students by consistently showing punctuality, organization, and preparedness for all lessons. For instance, our paraprofessionals should actively engage in lesson content, take notes, or assist students
- Foster social interactions among students and facilitate the development of appropriate social skills. This can be achieved by organizing group activities that encourage collaboration and communication, thereby promoting positive social interactions and enhancing social skills.
- Support students in maintaining focus and productivity by offering positive reinforcement and constructive feedback. This might involve praising students when they complete tasks or achieve goals (handing out ROAR cards), while also providing specific guidance on areas for improvement and explaining the benefits of such improvements.
- Familiarize yourself with each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) - if they have one, to provide tailored support for their success in the classroom. Reviewing IEPs and consulting with special education teachers can help ensure that students receive the necessary accommodations and assistance.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement instructional strategies that meet the diverse learning needs of students. This could include providing individualized support, adapting instruction, and offering materials suited to students' learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor student progress, provide feedback to teachers, and identify areas for improvement. By tracking student performance and communicating observations to teachers, paraprofessionals can contribute to targeted interventions and support strategies.
- Assist students in understanding classroom material and developing effective study habits. Break down complex concepts, provide guidance on study techniques, note-taking, and organization to empower students with the skills they need for academic success.
- Support the use of modified tests and accommodations as required. This involves helping to administer modified assessments, and ensuring compliance with IEP accommodations as instructed/designed by the case manager.
- Implement behavior management strategies to address disruptive behaviors. Utilize positive reinforcement, redirection techniques, and guidance to help students manage their behavior and develop appropriate social skills.
- Offer additional support to students during transitions and large group instruction to ensure smooth transitions and maximize learning opportunities.
