About The Role
The Shop Manager for Weldon Barber is responsible for leading and driving the performance of their shop while contributing to its success and leading by example through high-level Barbering and customer service. Responsibilities include Barbering as well as providing daily oversight and direction for their shop, ensuring operational efficiency and success.
The successful candidate for this position will bring passion and commitment to the task of providing superior men’s grooming, luxury customer service, and successful operations and business management. This candidate will be an excellent communicator, possessing diplomacy, tact, excellent listening skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, a commitment to establishing an environment of open, honest communication and rational decision-making as well as the ability to negotiate with all levels of staff to accomplish the mission and goals of Weldon Barber.

Position Responsibilities
· Mentor, coach, and support employees while providing leadership and accountability.
· Maintain effective, positive relationships with employees through consistent monitoring and feedback.
· Participate in the recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training functions for the shops as required, deferring to HQ Leadership, and maintaining oversight when necessary.
· Drive individual shop performance through effective leadership in all operational areas including through effective staffing, scheduling, and customer service.
· Uses industry standard metrics and key performance indicators to identify and analyze business performance, and develop, prioritize, and implement actionable items to drive results.
· Model, lead, and coach to consistent excellence in an elevated customer experience.
· Respond effectively to escalated customer questions, concerns, complaints, etc.
· Maintain safe and compliant workplaces throughout the area of responsibility, in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations as well as industry licensure requirements.
· Effectively complete assigned performance evaluations biannually, maintaining open communication with HQ Leadership throughout the process.
· Manage all inventory management and ordering for retail products and back bar products as well as shop supplies.
· Become subject-matter expert in booking software, messenger AI, and point-of-sale software, ensuring best practices are taught and utilized in the shop.
· Maintain booking software access and information for all appropriate staff and shops.
· Assist HQ Leadership and attend scheduled visits and classes at local cosmetology and barber schools/programs as necessary.
· Attend and encourage shop attendance at continuing education opportunities and/or classes quarterly with brand and guest educators.
· Attend annual and biannual events such as Team Leader Retreat, Family Summer Event, and New Year Awards Event.
· Attend BarberCon annually.
· Report facilities issues in a timely manner and troubleshoot as necessary.
· Report, collaborate and deliver corrective action plans, performance management plans, and terminations as required.
· Assist in the development of best practices in all job functions.
Position Requirements
· Barber, Cosmetology or Hair Design license valid in Washington state
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
· Flexibility and ability to quickly evaluate, prioritize, and pivot as emergent situations occur
· Strong analytic and problem-solving skills

· Ability to travel, fly, drive
Preferred
· Extensive experience leading teams in a Barbershop or Salon
Travel
This position requires occasional travel for annual and biannual events as described above. A personal vehicle and/or the ability to quickly travel to the assigned shop is required.
Compensation
The Shop Manager is a full-time commissioned position with monthly bonuses and incentives based on performance. Base compensation ranges from $52,830 - $144,198 plus tips, which average 47% of service revenue for this position. Total compensation with tips, incentives, and bonuses ranges from $86,462 - $223,285. Pay is based on several factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education qualifications, professional certifications, and experience level.
