The Role: The Payroll Technician is responsible for performing a range of duties in collaboration with the payroll team to process weekly and bi-weekly payrolls accurately and in a timely manner.
Location: Salinas, CA
Pay Range: $22.00 - $24.00
Areas of Responsibility:
- Collect payroll records daily from various departments and manually validate for accuracy.
- Manual calculation of total hours worked daily, entering time in system and ensuring breaks and meals are provided and recorded as mandated by law.
- Processing internal payroll reports for accuracy of payroll entries.
- Reconciliation of payments processed, sorting and preparing checks for distribution to employees.
- Calculate and enter in system, Franchise Tax Board and Family Support Services garnishments in accordance with regulations.
- Preparing monthly payroll reimbursements.
- Scanning, organizing and storing payroll records.
- Support with reconciliation of weekly and quarter end periodic tax files.
- Perform other payroll related duties, including system testing for updates.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years payroll related experience.
- High School Diploma/GED required, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
- Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of transactions daily during demanding seasons.
- Be bi-lingual and bi-literate in English and Spanish with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Power Point, JDE, UKG and working with ADP.
- Great attention to detail, analyze and interpret data for accuracy.
- Ability to work well both independently and with a team.
- Ability to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to travel to other Company geographic locations as needed.
