Primary duties are to assist the Technical Services
Librarian with managing periodicals (magazines, journals, and
newspapers). Other duties include staffing the service desk,
assisting patrons with general computer issues, performing
library circulation functions and regular stack maintenance, and
providing reference and research assistance. Primarily works a
daytime shift but schedule flexibility is beneficial because the
library’s schedule changes over the summer and between
semesters; evening/weekend work is possible.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to competently perform all required duties. Must be
able to bend and reach in order to lift books or boxes of books
and other library materials up to 10 lbs. Must be able push carts
loaded with books and bound volumes of journals
Ability/experience in public/customer services, especially working
with students in an academic or library setting. Knowledge of
modern office machines, methods, and equipment. Knowledge of
basic filing, indexing, and cross-reference methods. Must
possess verbal/written communication skills and the ability to
multitask and work collegially in a flexible setting. Knowledge,
experience, and/or aptitude in learning computer software and
multimedia technology applications on both Windows and iMac
computer desired.

Sunday and Monday: Off
Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Wednesday: 1:00 – 9:30 PM
Thursday & Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
High school graduate or equivalent.
