Position: Investment/Operations Officer

SUMMARY
Responsible for organizing, planning, directing, and controlling of the bank's operational functions, including daily operations within the Management Information Systems (MIS), Operations Department (Account Management, Tellers, New Accounts, and Compliance), and wire transfer/ACH departments. The Investment Officer is responsible for managing and monitoring investment activity and developing a strategic asset-allocation plan. In addition, as investment officer, short-term and long-term investment policies and plans are developed and presented to the Board of Directors. Monitor local, national and global economic activity to ensure bank’s asset/liability mix is properly managed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the operations within the department.

Oversee the wire transfer and ACH operations.

Act as back up to quarterly preparation of the Consolidated Report of Condition and Income (Call Report).

Act as back up to Security Officer
-
Funds Management Committee Chairperson.

Asset/Liability management and monitoring. Managing Interest Rate Risk.

Daily management and monitoring of the bank’s investment portfolio. Developing investment strategies based on the banks assets and local, national and global economic situation.

Review and maintain the investment policy, investment plan and funds management policy.

Manage and/or assist with the Bank’s strategic directive.

Serve on the Operations and Management Information Systems Committees.

Serve on the Executive Committee.

Serve as liaison for internal and external audit, as well as regulatory examinations.

Back up to the Controller

Assist in any other duties assigned by Controller.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
-
This position directly supervises the Operations Officer (Account Management, Tellers, New Accounts, and Compliance), MIS Officer, and Wire Transfer/ACH departments.
EDUCATIONAL and/or EXPERIENCE
This position requires the following minimal education and/or experience
-
A bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, or five (5) years’ experience in banking and demonstrated strong managerial and financial skills and understanding.

A high level of organization is essential to be effective in managing this position.

Accounting or Finance related certifications are preferred for this position.
