We are seeking a driven and highly skilled Controller. The Controller will be responsible for the accounting operations of the company, creation of financial reports, maintenance of all accounting records, set controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and certify that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company and communicating them as a member of the senior management team.

Location: Lewisville office (Hybrid)
Responsibilities
- Oversee accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, maintaining internal controls and compliance with GAAP
- Coordinate budget preparation, financial forecasts, and variance reporting
- Prepare and publish accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure timely compliance with regulatory reporting and research technical accounting issues
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and coordination with external auditors
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data
- Train, mentor, and evaluate accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
- Delegate responsibilities to encourage team growth and efficiency
- Assist in budgeting and strategic financial planning, providing financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and support business decision-making processes
- Manage local, state, and federal government reporting and tax filings
- Liaise with external tax advisors to ensure compliance and effective tax strategies
- Maintain annual Employee Stock Ownership Program valuation and compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's preferred)
- CPA certification
- Proven experience as a Controller in a distribution or logistics company
- 7 or more years of accounting and financial management experience
- Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively
- Excellent leadership skills and personal integrity
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
- Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
