Temp Senior Associate Scientist - Cancer Immunology
Pay Range: $58 - $79/hr
Onsite Role in Tarrytown, NY
6 Month Contract
The Cancer Immunology group in the department of Immunology & Inflammation is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Associate Scientist (temporary position - 6 months) to contribute to the discovery and characterization of novel targets in cancer immunotherapy.
The successful candidate will be a member of an innovative team utilizing cutting edge technologies to address outstanding questions in the field of cancer immunology and epigenetics. We are looking for someone who is passionate about scientific discoveries that will benefit patients with cancer, as well as individual growth and development.

Responsibilities:

Performing tumor implantation in mice, tumor growth measurement, injections through various routes, general surgical techniques and collection of blood and tissue samples

Tissue processing and purification of immune cells and in vitro cell-based bioassay development (primary mouse and human cells)

Investigating the components of the tumor microenvironment by multi-parameter flow cytometry

Analyzing biological data using FlowJo and GraphPad Prism software

Independently design, plan and execute experiments and maintain accurate electronic records

Analyzing, interpreting and effectively communicating results during internal and external meetings; working in a fast-paced, result oriented research environment

Collaborating proactively with team members to coordinate complex in vivo experiments, and with other departments to support cross-functional efforts
Requirements:

Seeking a motivated Senior Associate Scientist with a BS or MS degree and 5+ years of experience in immuno-oncology lab research to join a highly interactive and innovative cancer immunology team

Experience with proper handling and care of mice, tumor implantation (syngeneic and xenogeneic tumor models), tumor growth measurement, injections through various routes, general surgical techniques and collection of blood and tissue samples, is required

Experience with tissue processing, purification of immune cells and analysis with multi-parameter flow cytometry (FACS), and cell-based bioassays is required

Proficient computer skills and experience collecting and analyzing biological data is a necessity. Required experience with Microsoft Office Excel, GraphPad Prism, and FlowJo/OMI

We are looking for someone who demonstrates hands-on experience with cellular and molecular biology techniques and independently designs and executes experiments, analyzes data, interprets results and presents data during internal and inter-departmental meetings Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills are highly desired
