Summary
This position is accountable for coordination, management and maintenance of all safety, health and environmental systems. To include but not limited to compliance with OSHA regulations; OHSAS 18001 safety standard, corporate safety initiatives such as safe behavior auditing and risk assessment management; and environmental air, water and waste reporting. The position will plan, create, review and update a number of health and safety policies and procedures, including all safety and health-related aspects of workplace and working activities, such as chemical management, hazard communication, electrical safety, contractor safety, equipment safety, emergency response, and incident investigation. The position will also coordinate visits from internal and external regulatory authorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Corporate reporting of the Safety, Health, and Environmental figures
- Facilitation of incident reporting following the corporate guidelines
- Support the plant in Safety, Health, and Environmental activities, including (but not limited to):
o Implement proactive safety programs and monitor related activities daily
o Develop and conduct/disseminate safety trainings & toolbox meetings
o Policy implementation (incl. OHSAS 18001)
o Challenge and advise management in order to reach the corporate Safety Indicators
o Conduct appropriate audits, risk assessments, and other safety analyses
o Organize and lead periodic Safety Committee and Management Review meetings
o Contact person with local authorities regarding Safety, Health, and Environmental activities
o Facilitation of all waste including hazardous waste
- Coordination with Village of Pleasant Prairie requirements for waste
- Daily presence on the shop floor to observe, listen, coach, influence, educate, identify gaps and solutions; ex.: during Daily Briefings and H&S interactions
· Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company standards, for production, maintenance and projects
- Conducting risk assessment and enforcing preventative measures
- Facilitate Risk assessments, for tasks, equipment and projects
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager, line management and support functions to continuously improve H&S performance and participation
- Facilitate investigations of safety incidents, focusing on root causes and corrective actions
- Participate in the elaboration and auditing of Standard Operating Practices
- Organize and facilitate Health and Safety Committees, Roll out of Campaigns and other H&S Initiatives
- Conduct data analysis and complete health and safety reports
- Identify H&S training needs, oversee training and ensures appropriate evaluation.
- Facilitate on-boarding of new employees
- Ensures data integrity of various KPIs and processing of various forms with rigor.
- Participates in the review, improvement and documentation of various H&S processes, programs, procedures, communication tools, in collaboration with the other sites.

Education and /or Experience
BS in a scientific field, such as, Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience with at least 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or EHS-related field, is required. Must have thorough knowledge of Federal, State and Local safety and environmental laws and regulations.
