SUMMARY of POSITION
The Chief Engineer oversees the operation, maintenance, and repair of all equipment, ensuring guest satisfaction, cost control, and profitability. They are also responsible for preventative maintenance and ensuring that all rooms and public spaces meet the resort's standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead daily maintenance and repairs on building mechanical systems, equipment, public areas, and guest rooms.
· Manage maintenance and local reporting for RO, WWTP, and Power plants.
· Ensure timely addressing of guestroom maintenance requests with a sense of urgency.
· Conduct weekly walkthroughs with Rooms & Housekeeping team.
· Direct maintenance of HVAC, kitchen, electric, gas, and steam-powered equipment, and fire-life-safety systems.
· Coordinate inspections of fire-life-safety systems to maintain safety standards.
· Assist in managing energy expenses and conservation efforts.
· Develop annual business plan and budget for the Engineering department.
· Approach all interactions in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
· Implement ongoing training for Maintenance staff to enhance guest experience.
· Develop an efficient Preventative Maintenance program for the entire property.
· Evaluate work of employees, contractors, or vendors.
· Maintain consistent high-quality maintenance standards for the property.
· Troubleshoot and solve complex problems, reporting to GM promptly.
· Prepare reports as required by the GM.
· Conduct bi-weekly property walkthroughs with GM.
· Ensure consistent high-quality maintenance standards are maintained.
· Handle special projects as assigned.
· Set monthly performance targets for Maintenance Manager.
· Perform other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
· Relevant degree or certification in the hospitality industry.
· 5-7 years progressive experience in hotel maintenance or related field.
· Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience.
· Current certifications in HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, and proficiency with high voltage.
· Strong communication skills at all organizational levels
· Strong customer orientation and adaptability under pressure.
· Ability to understand operational needs and prioritize effectively.
· Open-minded, trustful, and flexible.
· Quick decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
· Financial literacy and basic arithmetic skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
