Sales Consultant Job Duties
- Understands automobiles by studying characteristics, capabilities, and features; comparing and contrasting competitive models; and inspecting automobiles.
- Develops buyers by maintaining rapport with previous customers; suggesting trade-ins; meeting prospects at community activities; greeting drop-ins; responding to inquiries; and recommending sales campaigns and promotions.
- Qualifies buyers by understanding buyer's requirements and interests; matching requirements and interests to various models; building rapport.
- Demonstrates automobiles by explaining characteristics, capabilities, and features; taking drives; explaining warranties and services.
- Closes sales by overcoming objections; asking for sales; negotiating prices; completing sales or purchase contracts; explaining provisions; explaining and offering warranties, services, and financing; collecting payment; and delivering automobiles.
- Provides sales management information by completing reports.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; and reading professional publications.
- Enhances dealership reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Sales Consultant Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Auto sales experience is preferred, but not required.
Automotive Sales Consultants Job Requirements
- Greet and assist customers
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Listen to customers to determine their needs, then provide options
- Follow up with prospective customers and return calls, texts & emails.
- Maintain a follow-up system that encourages repeat business and referrals
- Be able to maintain above-average CSI scores.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
