Job Summary:
We are looking for an organized and motivated assistant property manager to manage a diverse portfolio of properties. The assistant property manager will report to the property manager and perform administrative and organizational duties such as liaising with residents, collecting rent, doing basic bookkeeping, organizing property viewings and overseeing maintenance. You will also be responsible for evaluating applicants and sending leases and lease renewals.
To be successful as an assistant property manager you should have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. An outstanding candidate will also have a talent for business management and distinguished conflict resolution skills, as well as an understanding of Fair Housing regulations.
Duties:
- Building positive relationships with prospective and current tenants
- Overseeing the timely and successful completion of maintenance requests
- Showing properties to prospective tenants and answering relevant questions
-Preparing and executing detailed and legally compliant lease agreements and renewals
-Overseeing all financial procedures including verifying renter income, processing monthly payments
-Create and utilize organizational systems to support accurate record keeping, efficient financial transactions and prompt renter complaint resolution
- Conduct property tours for potential residents
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date leasing records
- Assist with resident inquiries and concerns
- Utilize phone etiquette to handle incoming calls professionally
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently
- Uphold knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and landlord-tenant laws
- Maintain organized resident files
Requirements:
- Previous experience in property management and/or leasing
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and resolve tenant complaints through de-escalation
- Proficiency in data entry and office software applications (experience with Appfolio a plus!)
- Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and landlord-tenant laws
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to efficiently organize your calendar
