Sage V Foods is a family-owned company located in Little Rock, Ark. Sage V Foods became the largest manufacturer of rice flour in the US. It also grew to become the largest rice extrusion operation in the US. Sage became the second largest producer of instant rice. In the last several years, Sage has sold its rice flour and crisp rice operation in Stuttgart, Ark, along with its instant rice operation. The company produces IQF frozen rice and packages the rice for sale into the retail and food service markets. Sage has its branded products or private label products in almost every grocery store in the country. Many of its products are organic and the company has some of the top selling skews in the natural food markets.
The plant utilizes a lot of proprietary equipment and processing systems. The plant is highly automated and full of complicated sophisticated equipment. The plant runs 24/7 and employees about 200 people. The company has a very competent and experienced management team, but operates in a work area where turnover may create some challenges.
We have recently invested in new equipment in an effort to increase our capacity by about 25%. So we are looking for a plant manager that has a combination of mechanical/engineering/processing skills along with people skills and good leadership ability to take us to the next level of capacity and operational excellence. This is not a turnaround job, but is not far from it.
The owner/founder does not live in Little Rock, but is very knowledgeable and active in management of the plant but is looking for a strong plant manager to completely take over the management of the plant as he transitions the management of the company to his sons.
This is a working Plant Manager position. The main responsibilities:

Salary range is $180,000 to $200,000 with bonus opportunities to be measured against plant improvement.
Qualifications:
Engineering degree or proof of excellent mechanical and industrial processing skills.
Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing plants, at least 100 employees in last job.
Ideally, experience in food manufacturing and food safety, but not required.
Ideally experience in frozen food manufacturing plant, but not required.
Good people skills and proven leadership skills.
High energy and good work ethic.
Strong communications skills a must
