The Community Engagement Assistant will provide key administrative support to the Director of Community Engagement, including the coordination of the volunteer program: host monthly volunteer orientations, filling volunteer slots as needed, updating the volunteer database, volunteer appreciation, assisting with the implementation of donor solicitation, cultivation and stewardship strategies, assist with coordination of fundraising events, and other duties as needed.

- Assist Director of Community Engagement and Executive Director with activities aimed at stewarding and cultivating new donors attending community/donor events, third party fundraisers, etc.
· Assist with the coordination/logistics of fundraising events, donor events, volunteer events, and community events, both in-person and virtual.
· Assist with all other agency fundraising, networking or client-related events.
· Help to achieve budgeted fundraising goals, which are set annually.
· Assist in updating volunteer database and ensure accuracy by routinely researching contacts and updating contact information accordingly.
· Provide monthly volunteer stats to Director of Community Engagement.
· Assist with recruiting donors, supporters and volunteers.
· Coordinate Volunteer Program: Recruit new volunteers to fulfill current needs of the agency’s programs and stores. Facilitate volunteer orientation training that includes: vision, mission, core values, all programs and stores.
· Routinely and promptly communicate with volunteers to demonstrate appreciation, answer questions, and ensure fulfillment of volunteer activities, including personalized thank you notes, phone calls, etc.
· Schedule and provide each volunteer with orientation specific to the areas in which they will serve. Schedule specialized training with staff within two weeks of volunteer completing orientation, as needed
· Email appropriate TP staff to make them aware of and schedule volunteer activities
· Maintain accurate volunteer database information by entering required volunteer information
· Run background checks on potential volunteers, as needed
· Ensure structured activities are ready for volunteers when they arrive
· Support agency mission by participating in agency meetings and committees as requested by supervisor.
· Promote and maintain professional and positive relationships with agency staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
Professional Development
· Maintain and develop skills and knowledge by attending trainings each year.
Outreach
· Assist with planning and executing any events related to prevention programming, as needed. Be a part of 1-2 networking groups

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Employee must be organized, a self-starter, and a team player
· Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. An outgoing personality with the ability to meet new people easily and quickly earn confidence. A genuine interest in human services is desired.
· Strong proficiency with computers and programs is required. Experience with databases preferred.
· The employee is required to travel less than 50% of the time and utilize company van whenever possible

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience
· At least two years’ experience in the fields of nonprofit fund development, community engagement, volunteer coordination, with a proven track record of success
Certifications
· None required.
