Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Med/Surgical, Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The successful candidate will provide exceptional care to patients requiring medical and surgical interventions, as well as those requiring continuous telemetry monitoring. The RN will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical and surgical patients, including those with complex conditions requiring telemetry monitoring.
- Assessment: Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients, including physical examinations, health histories, and vital signs monitoring.
- Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment, recognizing and responding to any changes in condition.
- Interventions: Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians, including IV therapy, wound care, and post-operative care.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Documentation: Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including assessments, interventions, patient responses, and changes in condition.
- Education: Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies, following established protocols and procedures.
- Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' needs and preferences, ensuring their voices are heard and respected in the care process.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in AL.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications required; additional certifications (e.g., CMSRN, PCCN) preferred.
- Skills: Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills; ability to interpret and respond to telemetry data effectively.
