Pay: $225,000 – $250,000 Annually DOE

Position Summary of the Chief Financial Officer:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of our post-secondary institution is a key leadership role that actively participates in the senior leadership team which is responsible for enabling Bryan University to become the world’s most valued brand in workforce readiness. The CFO is responsible for not only driving the financial strategy and ensuring the institution's fiscal health but also proactively participating in new products and new market entry initiatives. The ideal candidate for this position is a seasoned financial executive with a proven track record of strategic thinking, financial management, and innovation within the higher education or post-secondary training sector. This individual will play a critical role in identifying and executing key strategic company initiatives, developing advanced financial models, enhancing treasury management, modernizing the financial office, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities of the Chief Financial Officer:
1. Strategic Financial Leadership:
a. Develop and execute high-level strategic opportunities to enhance the institution's financial position.
b. Create and implement advanced financial models to support key business decisions.
c. Establish and maintain effective treasury management practices and banking relationships.
d. Drive cost efficiencies through strategic financial planning and budgeting.
2. Financial Reporting and Compliance:
a. Oversee the timely and accurate production of financial statements and financial forecasts.
b. Manage financial statement audits and ensure compliance with all tax filings.
c. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements from accreditors and the Department of Education.
d. Maintain expertise in Title IV regulations and ensure institutional adherence.
3. Financial Modeling and Business Analysis:
a. Utilize financial modeling and analysis to support decision-making processes.
b. Provide financial insights to guide long-term planning and resource allocation.
c. Effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
4. Modernization of Financial Office:
a. Lead efforts to modernize and streamline financial processes and systems.
b. Implement best practices in financial management and reporting.
c. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the financial office.
5. Collaboration and Relationship Building
a. Collaborate effectively with academic leadership, faculty, and staff to align financial strategies with academic goals.
b. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, government agencies, and financial institutions.
c. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Requirements of the Chief Financial Officer:
● Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a similar field required. Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
● CPA preferred.
● A minimum of 10 years of experience in post-secondary education financial roles including significant experience in strategic growth.
● Proven experience in financial modeling, business analysis, and financial reporting.
● Deep knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
● Demonstrated strategic thinking and the ability to execute complex financial strategies.
● Exceptional collaboration and relationship-building skills.
● High integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to seeing projects through to completion.
● Experience in driving cost efficiencies within an educational institution.
● Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence.
● Highly proficient in computer applications and software relevant to the role.
● Ability to develop and execute strategic plans to achieve departmental goals.
● Effective analytical capabilities to assess performance data and make data-driven decisions.
● Ability to work in a virtual environment using multiple software technologies.
● Ability to sit for six to eight hours.
● Ability to work a flexible schedule of at least 40 hours per week.
