Manufacturer of heavy-duty output alternators and power management solutions for military and other specialty vehicle application. Our headquarters and manufacturing site is located in Evanston, IL We currently have an opening in our Quality Department for a Quality Engineer supporting electronics manufacturing. This is an onsite position.
Responsibilities:
· Resolve technical problems collaboratively by providing structure, guidance and facilitation in determining root cause and corrective actions for product non-conformances and customer complaints.
· Prepare and manage all aspects of assigned customer PPAP / FAI (First Article Inspection) processes.
· Develop new Control Plans and support product and process risk assessment activities, including PFMEA.
· Provide technical support to Customers, Suppliers and Internal Team (Production, Sales, etc.) as required.
· Develop, validate, implement, document and maintain inspection methods, test plans and procedures to support design control, in-process validation and final inspection activities to evaluate products for acceptability.
· Support the implementation of new or revised products, processes, standards and methods.
· Participate in internal quality and process audits; support external ISO, Customer & other audits as required.
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
· BS in Engineering / Technology, BSEE preferred.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in Engineering, Quality, or Equivalent.
· Knowledge of and experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management System and other applicable standards.
· Metrology, GD&T and drawing / electrical schematic interpretation skills.
· Competency in Quality Core Tools such as Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, PFMEA, MSA (Gage Capability), Process Capability (SPC) and Error Proofing/Poke Yoke.
· Analytical problem-solving methods in a team setting – i.e. 8D, Root Cause Analysis, 5Why, Fishbone, etc.
· Electro-Mechanical / Electronic background highly desired.
· Strong oral and written communication skills.
· Epicor ERP System experience desired.
· Microsoft Office proficiency (Word / Excel / Outlook).
