Job Description:
Support the operation of the campus shuttle and/or airport shuttle maintenance services
- Monitor the PM schedule to ensure that all vehicles are maintained according to OEM standards
- Provide the Vice President of Fleet Services, With the required reports and other data daily, weekly and monthly as requested.
- Maintain equipment to OEM standards.
- Provide detailed maintenance updates on weekly Maintenance Zoom Call with Vice President of Fleet services.
- Utilize Fleetio software to input repairs, work orders, monitor PM intervals and run reports as needed.
After hour on call as scheduled.
- Additional on call required during inclement weather.
- After hour driver emergencies to include roadside emergencies
- Provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Familiarity with and competency in use of computer diagnostic software to troubleshoot and repair engine failures.
- Must have a clear understanding of Cummins Insite, Ford IDS and Basic OBD2 scan tools to troubleshoot diagnostic trouble codes.
- Ensure repairs noted on DVIRs are completed in a timely manner and DVIRs are signed off and filed properly.
- Ability to operate floor jacks and hydraulic lifts.
- Remove and install tires.
- Ability to Order parts, tires and fluids.
- Maintain parts inventory.
- Maintain (Out of Service) List in Fleetio and ensure equipment is placed back into operational service in a timely manner.
- Monitor fuel economy to identify possible maintenance issues.
- Complete all safety-related issues prior to next shift.
- Schedule non-safety related repairs as needed.
- Manage a team of mechanics and effectively delegate tasks.
- Work at the Direction of Vice President of Fleet Services
- Maintain required licensing including but not limited to drivers’ license, ASE certifications and Medical card.
- Complete training as directed.
- Monitor and pre-approve OT for mechanics.
- Request pre-Approval for all parts/repairs in Fleetio that will exceed $2500 from Regional Fleet Manager and tag Fleet Office Manager and Inventory manager.
Job Requirements:
- Valid Class B CDL with P endorsement required
- Minimum of 3 years Supervisory experience
- 10 years’ experience as a Lead Mechanic in the transportation mechanic field
- Master ASE certification, equivalent technical or trade school required
- Able to utilize Microsoft office Outlook and the Internet
- Must be able to pass pre-screen drug screen and physical
- Complete pre-employment background check
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. throughout the day, as well as bend for extended periods working on low area equipment

- All Diesel mechanics must have working knowledge of the DPF, DOC, DEF, SCR, DPF regeneration and turbo VGT actuator systems
Working knowledge of the heavy-duty suspension system to include: wheel seals, king pins, air bags, rotors, and gas shocks.
