Nestled in 25 acres of beautiful gardens, Philbrook Museum of Art is a 1920s Italianate Villa featuring a dynamic and ambitious program of rotating exhibitions and galleries with selections from an actively growing collection of approximately 15,000 objects. Position Overview
As the Development Officer, Membership Strategy, you are primarily responsible for overseeing general membership programs and managing the Ambassador Circle. In collaboration with the Director of Development, this role will be responsible for developing strategies to grow general membership, increase retention, and help build the major gifts pipeline.
What You Will Do
Strategy and Management:

Manage a comprehensive membership strategy for the institution

Create and manage a customized solicitation and cultivation strategy to generate new and upgrade current members

Design an annual strategy for growth and retention, establish and track metrics of success; streamline processes

Manage two employees in membership and work closely with frontline teams on membership sales goals
Relationship Management, Stewardship, and Communications:

Manage a portfolio of 25-40 high-level members

Collaborate to create and implement membership events throughout the year

Coordinate and manage communications to all levels of membership

Assist gift officers in prospecting members who are major gifts prospects
Research and Project Management:

Work closely with team members to ensure gift acknowledgement letters, prospecting, and communications are timely and accurate

Track and prepare regular reports on metrics

Manage Ambassador Circle and General Membership budgets
Requirements:
What You Will Bring

A Bachelor's degree in Business, or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.

Knowledge of fundraising principles and experience in relationship-building with donors, members, clients, or volunteers.
Knowledge/Skill/Ability

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work in a collaborative environment

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Strong analytical skills

Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel
Desired Qualifications

Minimum of two years’ donor experience in a non-profit setting.

Knowledge of Tessitura or other fundraising databases preferred
Schedule
Typically Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:00pm. Must have the ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed for events.
