The Evanston location boasts a diverse membership base of 400+, is widely popular among local residents & university students. It also uniquely hosts a class 2x per week for clients with Parkinson's.
Position Overview
The General Manager leads all aspects of club performance, operations, and growth. They ensure the delivery of the best member experience, team member environment, and contribute to the club’s financial success. The General Manager leads, trains, and develops a diverse, high performing team and provides direction to ensure the team achieves goals in a way that reflects the company’s values. This position is responsible for communicating and upholding company policies and standards and delivering on our commitment to delivering the best boxing experience available.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee club operations and client services including group classes, private training, retail sales, and special club events
- Increase club revenue through membership, client retention, and generating retail sales
- Create and facilitate a club community to engage the member experience
- Be an expert on TITLE Boxing Club operating systems
- Drive membership through in-club events, club promotions, and outreach
- Foster and develop a high-performing club by recruiting, hiring, training, developing, motivating, and managing team members
- Maintain responsibility for the financial performance of the club (P&L)
- Assistance with club maintenance to ensure
- Help to instill a sense of common responsibility and teamwork across club functions to maintain positive member and team member experience
- Create and conduct team-building activities
- Ensure a high percentage of membership enrollments by supporting the sales team and managing the execution of the club sales strategy
- Drive results through fitness by analyzing performance and recommended improvements
- Offer direction, motivation, and guidance toward achieving individual and company goals
- Establish a fun, safe, healthy, and community-focused club culture that delivers high member satisfaction and achieves maximum profitability.
- Help to resolve escalated member issues
- Other duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
- A passion for the fitness industry and helping people live healthy lives
- 3+ years of management experience within health and fitness, retail, or hospitality
- Experience training and motivating others
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience in generating sales through lead generation and management processes
- Understanding of accounting principles and cash processing procedures
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to work well under pressure, problem solve, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment • Strong verbal and oral communication skills
- Strong organization skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Experience using ClubReady and Emma a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- CPR/First Aid/ARD Certification required Physical Requirements
- Ability to work a varied schedule to support the needs of the business, including extended workdays, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to lift 45 lbs.
- Ability to move about club floors and rooms
- Occasional requirements to demonstrate or explain proper physical fitness activity, technique, or procedures
- Typing, using the telephone and computer mouse
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and stair climbing
