Title: Environmental Manager
Location: North Hobbs, NM
Pay: $115,000-$120,000 Base – 20% Bonus – Relocation Assistance – 4 weeks of PTO
Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30am-3:30pm

This position will spearhead all the environmental compliance of an energy plant in North Hobbs working with the New Mexico Environmental Department and Environmental Protection Agency to ensure proper data and reporting is submitted, health and safety protocol is being followed onsite, and any spills or incidents are being taken care of. This role is considered part of the leadership team at the plant reporting to the Plant Manager and Director of Environmental in the company. Job Description:
- Provide professional interface with regulators and officials, including preparing for and coordinating inspections, responding to information requests, developing strategies, permit modifications and renewals, and reviewing routine compliance.
- Work with the NMED and EPA to submit reports and ensure plant is in environmental compliance.
- Work closely with all departments and employees to contribute technical and regulatory expertise necessary for optimal operation and management of prepare periodic reports as required.
- Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
- Provide coaching, assistance, and tools to all levels of the business to promote and drive a safe working environment for all employees.
- Manage contractors and/or vendors related to regulatory.
- Other environmental and regulatory duties as assigned.
- Assist the facility with ensuring that the company complies with all applicable environmental regulations, mitigates potential liabilities and helps avoid penalties, sanctions, or other legal punishment. The regulatory scope includes, but is not limited to local, state, and federal environmental rules and regulations.
- Lead in the development, implementation, and review of policies, standards and procedures to comply with applicable permits.
- Coordinate and perform all permit requirements.
- Coordinate and perform groundwater sampling requirements.
- Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual required reporting activities.
- Developing and delivering customer training one-on-one, in groups, in classrooms, and via web-delivered media.
- Maintain proactive lines of communication with all relevant decision makers and stakeholders to keep all parties informed of regulatory activities/status.
- Provide regulatory oversight, leadership, and direction to personnel regarding the day-to-day compliance with permits and regulations.
- Assist with developing budgets and managing expenses related to regulatory.
- Interpret laws, regulations, and permit requirements, and assist the facility with staying abreast of the changing regulatory landscape to help management anticipate, shape and comply with potential new requirements.
- Coordinate and perform periodic plant audits to ensure that the applicable regulatory requirements are being met.
