The role
SoFi is seeking an energetic, detailed oriented, self-motivated Issue Governance Manager to join our Enterprise Risk Management team. This role will support SoFi Technologies' (including subsidiaries) Issue Governance Framework as part of the Enterprise Risk Management 2nd Line of Defense. This role will support the ongoing development and implementation of the ERM Issue Governance program including the policies, standards, procedures, tools needed to ensure adherence to the program and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in risk management, governance, and compliance, and will be an agile learner, think strategically, and possess strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

What you'll do:
Develop and maintain Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Issue Governance policies, procedures, standards
Provide Independent Risk challenge and oversight ensuring Issues are recorded accurately, adhere to program requirements and align to defined Risk Taxonomies
Advance the company's Issue Management risk culture and program knowledge through training, education and communication
Analyze Issues and prepare reports that highlight themes, root causes, and emerging risks to the Enterprise Risk Management Committees
Identify areas for data quality improvement and help to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies
Support and advise the design, development, and testing of information systems, such as GRC software and/or data analytics solutions
Perform data validation and quality assurance
Continue to look for opportunities to be more efficient while maintaining a strong control environment
Stay current on applicable federal, state and industry laws, regulations, and guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8+ Years in 2LOD risk management, compliance, and/or project management within the financial services industry
Knowledge of banking products, processes and regulations
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Strong leadership, collaboration, influencing and organizational skills with attention to detail
Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently or within a group under minimal daily direction.
Intellectually curious. You adapt to change, embrace bold ideas, ask questions, test assumptions, and challenge conventional thinking
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, develop innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions
Experience leading and managing meetings with cross functional teams, effectively and efficiently communicating and driving engagement from the first line of defense.
Proficiency in data analysis and deriving meaningful insights for decision-making
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, take ownership of deliverables, and drive assigned tasks to completion, in a timely manner.
Strong knowledge of risk management principles and practices
Experience with regulatory compliance and corporate governance standards
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Ability to manage multiple initiatives and competing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to change
Proficiency with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office products
Strong team player
Experience with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) systems
Exceptional data visualization skills
Nice to have:
Experience with Tableau reporting software
Experience with and an understanding of data warehouse, data extraction tools, and analytics software and methods.
Multi-lingual (Spanish)

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.
