Tracys Furniture in downtown Anacortes is seeking sales associates for retail furniture sales. This position will assist new and existing customers of Tracys Furniture by actively engaging with the customer and directing or recommending products that align with the customer’s needs, desires and/or stated goals.
Key Duties
- Assist customers in-store and on the phone. Greet customers in a polite and professional manner.
- Recommend products based on customers' needs and desires.
- Demonstrate product features and functionality and answer customer product questions.
- Maintain knowledge of store sales, promotions and policies
- Prepare sales invoices, arrange delivery and facilitate special requests and orders
- Provide superior customer service and deal with customers honestly and with integrity Experience
- Previous retail experience highly desired.
- Knowledge of interior design or decorating desired.
Responsibilities/Requirements
- Assist customers in-store and on the phone. Greet customers in a polite and professional manner.
- Respond to e-mail and web inquiries
- Maintain current knowledge of products, promotions and advertising
- Maintain knowledge of products key features and benefits
- Write and input sales into computer system, accept and process payments and issue receipts.
- Collect balances owing prior to delivery of merchandise as required
- Follow up with customers post-delivery to ensure a satisfactory experience
- Assist with cleaning and arranging showroom to maintain a professional, inviting space for customers
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; required.
- 1-2 years of sales or customer service experience with demonstrated selling skills desired. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well.
- Ability to operate a PC using MS Office products (Outlook, Word) and use an iPad, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Ability to do basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) accurately. Ability to enter sales data and payments accurately into the company software system. Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to present a professional appearance.
- Ability to read manufacturer product catalogues and price special-order merchandise accurately
Working Environment/Conditions
- Climate controlled office environment.
- Work requires regular attendance, punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule with willingness to work a flexible and/or rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays.
May be required to work extended hours, as needed. Flexibility is required to work as needed to ensure adequate staffing for training or employee absences. Physical Job requires ability to move smaller items around the showroom; occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds). Job involves prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching.

Pay: $25.00 - $36.00 per hour
