Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Adjunct Instructor to join our team at Midwestern Career College. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the academic success of students in the Sterile Processing program.
Responsibilities:
Instruction and Training:
- Develop and deliver engaging lectures, labs, and hands-on training sessions in sterile processing.
- Utilize various teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles.
- Provide instruction on topics such as decontamination, sterilization, packaging, and storage of surgical instruments and equipment.
Curriculum Development:
- Assist in the development, evaluation, and revision of the Sterile Processing program curriculum to ensure it meets industry standards and accreditation requirements.
- Incorporate the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in sterile processing into the curriculum.
Student Assessment and Support:
- Assess student performance through written exams, practical assessments, and clinical evaluations.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve their skills and knowledge.
- Advise students on academic and career matters, offering guidance and support to help them succeed.
Professional Development:
- Stay current with developments in the field of sterile processing and healthcare.
- Attend professional conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional organizations, and committees.
Laboratory and Equipment Management:
- Maintain and organize the sterile processing laboratory and equipment.
- Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and complies with safety standards.
Community and Industry Engagement:
- Develop and maintain relationships with local healthcare facilities and industry partners.
- Coordinate with clinical sites for student externships and practical experiences.
- Promote the program within the community and participate in recruitment activities.
Requirements:
Education:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
- Certification in Sterile Processing (CSPDT or CRCST)
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare field.
- Previous teaching or training experience is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively teach and mentor students.
- Proficiency with educational technology and simulation tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
