The role of the ASC Consultant Pharmacist is to educate, support, guide, and make recommendations to the administration, medical and nursing staff to execute their pharmacy role in the safest, most cost effective and efficient way possible. This job is as a consultant. There is no direct patient care.
Our company serves Ambulatory Surgery Centers in California with industry leading and innovative consulting including; risk management, benchmarking and quality improvement pharmacist services.
ASC Consultant Pharmacist’s Role:
- Provide quality improvement consulting to Ambulatory Surgery Centers
- On-site visits to Ambulatory Surgery Centers for review of operating rooms, pre and post operative medication storage areas
- Prepare quality improvement reports based on on-site visits
- Provide services that are accurate, reliable, ethical, courteous, and timely
- Support the efforts of all care providers to deliver quality care
- Promote the delivery of quality care consistent within the scope of practice
- Provide and promote professional practice standards through education and teaching
- Adhere to all professional and regulatory standards
- Promote collaboration and teamwork among all members of the healthcare team
- Effectively communicate/educate all clients to meet organizational goals and client service expectations
- Maintain current knowledge, skills and competencies through involvement in professional continuing education activities
- Foster involvement in performance improvement activities to promote continuous improvement

Required Certification/Licensure:
- Currently licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of California
- Not on the OIG Exclusions Database (Medicare Excluded Parties List)
- Free of pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances
- This is a Test Designated Position. You will be tested for illegal drugs prior to appointment and randomly thereafter. Appointment and continued employment is conditional on negative results.
Location:
- Onsite visits to Ambulatory Surgery Centers throughout parts of Southern California (Counties include: Los Angeles, Ventura, San Bernardino, Orange, Riverside, and San Diego)
- Visits are Monday through Friday generally between 8am and 4pm
- Report preparation at home/virtual
