Job Overview:
The Program Director has direct oversight of the assigned site’s program operations. This position will assist with community collaboration, while working with those in organizational leadership positions, to help build and maintain outstanding mental health and SUD treatment services with a caring and dedicated staff.
The Program Director will supervise staff, plan and develop programs, and ensure the facility has all the resources necessary to ensure smooth functioning, while maintaining the organization’s culture and compliance with policies and procedures. The Program Director works directly with organizational leadership as a member of the management team and reports to the Associate Director of Programs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supervision and working with individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. This position requires excellent administrative skills, program management expertise, and a passion for clinical work.

Duties:
- Manage and supervise program staff to ensure effective service delivery
- Develop and implement program policies and procedures
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, families, and community partners
- Lead program development initiatives to enhance clinical services
- Coordinate with behavioral health professionals to support program participants
Skills:
The successful candidate should possess the following skills:
- Experience in supervising staff and/or managing programs
- Proficiency in working with clients in mental health and addictions settings
- Ability to foster a staff environment of teamwork and collaboration and a dedication to the creation of a program culture that ensures employee job satisfaction while holding all staff to a standard of excellence in a clinical care setting.
- Strong administrative and organizational abilities
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices
Salary:
Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and licensure.
Qualifications:
LCSW or LPC or LCADC
Minimum of 2 years post-licensure management and clinical supervisory experience in the mental health and/or addictions field.
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, management/human resources training preferred
- New Jersey full licensure in good standing: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Psychologist, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
- At least five years of previous experience in implementing mental health programs on the clinical level.
- The ability to implement organizational goals with an off-site location.
- Ability to work with both the community and senior management.
- Outstanding organization and leadership abilities.
- Outstanding communication (oral and written) skills.
- Flexibility and ability to think outside of the box.
- Ability to work with clients and their families to create optimum results.
