Job Description: Lab Technician
This position requires mixing various components of resins and additives to make a suitable matrix for composite parts.
The resins used are based on epoxies and acrylics. The fibers are glass, carbon and polymers.
Examples of resin curing mechanisms and processing are: UV cure, amine/peroxide system, vacuum bagging, compression molding, and filament winding.
This position requires following SOPs and documenting all the works/test results in lab notebooks.
Instruments/Equipment involved:
- Winding machine to make composite parts.
- High shear planetary mixer to mix resins.
- Mechanical testing machine for tensile, compression, shear, adhesion tests.
- Viscometer to measure resin viscosity.
Education/Skills Requirements:
- Minimum High School graduate, technical/vocational graduate preferred.
- Work experience in a laboratory environment is preferred.

- Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred)
