The Spaw is currently seeking an experienced groomer who can comfortably groom at minimum five dogs independently per day, including large breeds weighing up to 80+lbs.
Mobile grooming offers an opportunity for job satisfaction, as the cost per groom is higher than that of brick-and-mortar salons. You have the option to groom fewer dogs per day while still earning a good income. Additionally, tips can range between $10-$25 per dog. Working independently eliminates salon drama, allowing you to create an environment that suits you. Again, you will be working independently you must know how to work with difficult dogs without any help from another person. Our unit gives ample space to move around and featuring back-up cameras for easy parallel parking. The unit even includes a bathroom!
One of the perks of working with us is that our owner is a groomer herself and understands the unique needs of groomers. We offer several tools, including a hammock to assist with difficult dogs, a clipper vac to eliminate back brushing, belts to help dogs stand throughout the groom, groomer's helper, and happy hoodies for drying. The groom and bath dogs are all recurring six-week appointments, meaning less work for you.
The schedule includes grooming 5-8 dogs per day, with 6-10 hour shifts depending on how fast you work. Weeks alternate between Tuesday to Friday and Wednesday to Saturday. Hours are from 8 a.m. until you finish.
All employees have a unique pay structure that rewards motivated employees. Commission increment increases based on the number of dogs groomed, bonuses for detailing the unit, bringing in clients, washing the outside of the unit, and receiving good reviews. We do not upsell products and offer an all-inclusive package for our clients.
After an initial phone interview, we will conduct an on-the-job interview where you will groom one dog with pay. After hiring, we offer a 2-3 week training period and a 90-day probation period.
