Responsibilities Include (not limited to):
- Daily management of after school counselors, supervise, hire, train, coach,
schedule, counsel operational staff
- Assistant Director will act as the Director in the absence of the Director
- Assistant Director will be able to consult/make decisions that will allow the
program to work efficiently
- Document and keep log of incident and accident reports
- Maintain daily contact with Site Director and Counselors to discuss
information, explain and interpret guidelines and instructions to assist in
conflict resolution
- Update job knowledge and participate in professional development
workshops and activities
- Oversee and review lesson planning with staff
- Enforcing and evaluate VBGC standards, VBGC policies and procedures in
compliance with regulations for programming
- Knowledge of DYCD Data
- Run a safe, injury/accident free environment
- Work closely with Site Director and serve as primary point of contact for
parents and communicate all operating policies and/or issues at staff
meetings
- Along with the Director is the liaison between the Operations Manager and
Executive Director on a frequently basis (program events, updates, etc)
- Delegate jobs/tasks to staff as needed for the program to meet contractual
requirements and maintenance of safe and fun experience
Qualifications:
- BA or BS from an accredited college or university plus 3 years experience
working with youth and community service
- Effective written and verbal communication a must
- Bilingual a plus ( Spanish and / or Arabic )
- CPR/First Aid certification desired
Salary
Hourly: $22 p/hr - Part- Time
Schedule: Monday – Friday 1:00 PM- 7:00 PM

Skills:
- University-level education or equivalent experience working with students.
- Proficiency in educating and engaging young learners.
- Knowledge of education administration principles.
- Experience in higher education teaching is a plus.
