Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an educational recruitment firm, is currently seeking an experienced Librarian at an independent school in the Washington D.C. area.

Responsibilities of the Librarian:
- Attend regular department, faculty, and other meetings.
- Promote an inclusive working and community environment
- Meet with students quarterly to target short-term and long-term goals
- Supervising all library and archives operations and staff, budgeting, strategic planning, and managing the library facility
- Oversee collection development and acquiring circulating print and digital materials
- Designing and implementing school-wide initiatives such as Summer Reading List, Book Fair
- Embraces authentic assessment, innovative pedagogies, discussion-based learning and project based learning.
- Organize and facilitate parent education opportunities
Requirements of the Librarian:
- Master's degree in Library/Information Science
- Minimum of 3 years of administrative and general library experience
- Have substantial expertise in the field and will be: skilled in fostering persistent problem solving, knowledgeable about adolescents’ intellectual, social, and emotional development
- Proficiency with Google Apps and Apple products
- Eager to work collaboratively with colleagues on curriculum design, pedagogy
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
