The Employee Development Specialist provides quality service and knowledge in the areas of training and development, onboarding support, employee survey management, uniform coordination, employee relations and other HR generalist initiatives as needed, including occasional talent acquisition, safety, retention initiatives, service awards, HRIS work, and wellness to help ensure all HR team initiatives are successfully met.

Plays key role in training and professional development efforts for the organization.

Assists and supports on key projects, often working independently and exercising proper discretion, judgement and attention to detail.
- Coordinates orientation, employee uniforms, employee surveys and safety committee meetings.
Additional position responsibilities:

Serves as backup recruiter, screening resumes, conducting phone screens and scheduling interviews during busy times.

Serves as backup to onboarding; including HRIS workflows and in-person new hire meetings.
- Conducts necessary audits and document organization measures to improve accessibility of employee data, such as I-9s.

Serves as resource for new hire and ongoing trainings and tracking of training completion.

Assists coordination of Wellness and other HR-related events for the organization.
- Researches and schedules trainings and meetings to foster overall communication and professional growth and development.
- Coordinate PAF process to ensure efficient daily processing of employee informational changes in HRIS.
- Leads select HR projects in areas of HR tech, positive work culture, improved employee retention and appreciation efforts, to include necessary surveys.

Provides guidance to employees and managers on general performance issues
- Facilitates and coordinates corporate orientation program with other team members.

Assists staff and managers with questions related to policies and procedures; creates procedures and manuals as needed.

Helps ensure HR department maintains compliance and follows local, state and federal employment laws.

Assists with Safety education, CPR scheduling and work injury form coordination
- Helps to coordinates service award program and monthly employee newsletter.
- Provides support to HR team and performs other administrative tasks and duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Two years of solid HR work experience in the areas of training and employee relations required.

Bachelor's Degree in HR preferred. HR certification a bonus.
