Continued Care LTC Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacist.
As a pharmacist on our team you will be helping with overseeing pharmacy activities and ensuring compliance with any and all pharmacy regulations. We seek an individual that has a high level of initiative, has an ability to work well with a team as well as independently . This position has supervisory duties. Training will be provided.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Follow and maintain licensure per the State Board of Pharmacy’s rules and regulations
· Ensure compliance with any and all pharmacy regulations
· Responsible for providing customer service to resolve service issues with long-term care facilities and assisted-living facilities
· Use QS1 and DocuTrack
· Process physician orders and refill requests
· Processing of new patient admission and new physician order
· Receive/order (controlled) medications from pharmacy wholesaler
· Order medication from other pharmacies as needed
· Complete initial pharmacist check
· Create generated labels and physician orders
· Review general requirements for each facility
· Conduct final check of any legend medications
· Conduct final checks of controlled medications
· Ensure narcotics are processed within the scope of pharmacy law
· Maintain oversight of department operations
· May include travel to facilities, under uncommon circumstances
· Perform other duties as assigned by management
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/JOB TRAINING
- Must possess, as a minimum, a Degree of Pharmacy, PharmD/Rph certification
Experience
- 2 years of pharmacy experience is preferred
- General Pharmacy knowledge required
- Basic computer skills required
- Long Term Care Pharmacy, IV, and consulting experience preferred
Specific Requirements
- Must possess a current, unencumbered active license to practice as a Pharmacist in the state. Be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must be knowledgeable of pharmaceutical practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing pharmaceutical functions of a pharmacy
- Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills are required
- Knowledge of training and supervisory techniques.
- Knowledge of employee policies and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices involved in the compounding and dispensing of prescriptions.
- Thorough knowledge of the calculation of doses and the preparation and use of percentage and stock solutions.
- Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutics, drugs, narcotics, and poisons.
- Thorough knowledge of the basic sciences underlying pharmacy, such as chemistry, biology, and physics.
- Thorough knowledge of pharmacy, drug, narcotic, and related laws of the state.
- Knowledge of stock control and record keeping related to the work.
- Ability to assume responsibility for the operation of the pharmacy department.
- Ability to fill prescriptions and prepare standard medications.
- Ability to recognize physical, chemical, and therapeutic incompatibilities and drug interactions.
- Ability to maintain accurate records..
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written forms

Pay: $120,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
