A. Overall Purpose Of The Job
The Computed Tomography (CT) Specialist is responsible for providing expeditious imaging for medical emergencies utilizing a CT scanner or x-ray unit. The CT Tech will obtain high-quality images to assist healthcare providers in medical diagnosis and treatment. The CT Tech will perform CT scans, plain film radiology studies, and user performance checks as required.
B. Key Responsibilities
- Policy and Procedure Development: Develop, recommend, and implement policies and procedure manuals related to the delivery of safe, efficient, quality imaging services aligned with organizational philosophies, objectives, mission, and accreditation and contract compliance.
- Long-Range Planning: Represent the imaging department for long-range planning; monitor, audit, and evaluate the quality of services provided. Ensure consistent application of policies and standards.
- Staffing Management: Identify staffing needs based on clinical volume rates. Define position competencies for imaging modalities and provide staff training. Ensure effective utilization of staff and departmental resources, and staff participation in all fire safety, infection control, and other mandatory training.
- Communication: Maintain open lines of communication among employees, physicians, peers, and others.
- Advisory Role: Advise the Deputy Project Manager and Chief Medical Officer on issues related to collaborative service efforts and provide appropriate plans for resolution.
- Committee Participation: Actively attend and participate in essential committees of the medical department. Participate in and promote continuous quality improvement and management programs, implementing and communicating corrective action plans and interventions.
- Equipment and Supplies Management: Assess and communicate departmental needs for equipment and supplies; oversee equipment acquisition and maintenance requirements.
- Mass Casualty Exercises: Actively participate in Mass Casualty exercises and events.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
C. Job Profile
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to provide after-hours on-call response to emergency calls requiring imaging skills.
- Capability to function independently with proven ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Administrative/management experience including planning and development.
- Excellent consultation skills, verbal and written communication abilities, and public speaking skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with all standard radiographic procedures, including portable and operating room.
- Technical ability to obtain optimal images.
Experience Preferred:
- Experience on a military site or working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent CT and radiology imaging practical experience.
- Experience with digital acquisition and transmission of images.
- Maintain continuing education activities.
Education Required:
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) to perform CT scans and x-rays.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Common Access Card (CAC) or the ability to obtain one.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
- This position is accompanied. No pets.
- US Citizen.
- US Department of State (DOS) clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
- Must be able to relocate to Iraq.
- A valid passport must be maintained during your stay in Iraq.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $48.61 - $52.91 per hour
