Role:
As our Accountant, you’ll be a crucial part of our team, ensuring that our financial operations run smoothly. Your mission: maintain accurate financial records, analyze data, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making. You’ll handle property management accounting with precision and attention to detail. In addition, you will be asked to manage aspects of accounting for all five sister companies.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for our managed properties.
- Dive into financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities.
- Monitor budget performance and recommend improvements.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process invoices, track payments, and reconcile accounts.
- Manage rent collection and ensure timely deposits.
- Handle vendor payments and maintain meticulous records.
General Ledger and Reconciliation:
- Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial transactions and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with year-end audits and tax filings.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with property managers to create and monitor property budgets.
- Forecast expenses and revenue based on historical data and market trends.
- Provide financial insights to guide decision-making.
Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:
- Stay informed about relevant accounting standards and industry regulations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.
- Assist with property-specific compliance, such as rent control regulations.
Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for process optimization and implement efficiency measures.
- Streamline financial workflows and enhance reporting accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in property management.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, AppFolio).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary Range $60,000 - $100,000
