Overview:
Seeking licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for our busy dermatology practice in Buckhead, Atlanta, Georgia. Position will evaluate and treat patients in an office setting full or part-time schedule potential. You are expected to be independent-minded, personable, compassionate, and a team-player. Cosmetic procedure knowledge a plus!
Responsibilities and Duties:
Providers are expected to evaluate and treat patients with all types of skin disorders, lesions, biopsies, wound care, skin rashes/allergies, and suture removal and to assist in surgery with the physician. Perform basic cosmetic procedures including injectables, microneedling, lasers and PRP. This position is for a responsible person, willing to exceed and demonstrate ethical and professional standards in patient care with an attention to excellence and superb client-customer service. Must have a passion for dermatology and Cosmetic Dermatology, and be willing to provide patient care independently in collaboration with our dermatology team. Only the strongest candidates will be considered.
Qualifications and Skills:
Dermatology experience is preferable, but not required. In either case, you will be trained to provide medical dermatology services and procedures by our physician. Training would consist of Monday-Friday for 3 months if you have no dermatology experience. After the training period, the candidate would work closely with the dermatologist in various capacities depending on schedules, patient load, and training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Patient Examinations and Treatment: Performs and records complete physical examinations, as needed to evaluate a specific health problem, including a history and physical. Analyzes and interprets data, formulates presenting problems and causes, and establishes care plans for resolutions. Evaluates and treats acute minor illnesses and traumas according to established practice protocols. May assist physician with procedures or based on the scope of practice, under review conduct invasive or non-invasive procedures.
- Orders laboratory, and/or other non-invasive diagnostic tests and procedures. Initiates referrals to the appropriate physician.
- Prescribes medications as determined under the scope of practice with collaborative physician oversight and mid-level practitioner controlled substance license.
- Ensures appropriate documentation of patient-related information is in the medical chart, including discharge summaries and instructions.
