School Police Captain
Cardinal Point Security Group is seeking a School Police Captain whose primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and protection of the students, faculty, and staff.
Location: Eagleville, PA
Pay rate: $36.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Part time hours to start in July for training purposes to build program
- This is a 10-month position. Schedule includes normal school hours, occasional after-school events, with summers off.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Will be the Chief Administrator in the management of all school police and security personnel assigned to the district.
- Oversee inspections of all security personnel to determine whether established policies, procedures and regulations are being carried out to the letter and in the spirit for which they were designed.
- Supervises others while fostering a team environment
- Make examinations of assignments, time reports and all miscellaneous reports concerning personnel under their command to ensure proper deployment and control
- Serve as the school entity liaison with the regional law enforcement agencies and other organizations on matters of school safety and security.
- Remain aware of the goals and objectives of the School Safety and Security Program and provide all assistance and direction necessary for the continued improvement of these programs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Retired or honorably separated Municipal Police Officer, State Trooper, Sworn Federal Agent (Title 18 Federal Law Enforcement) OR prior Military Police, Master at Arms, Airforce Security Forces.
- Five years of experience as a law enforcement administrator
- Proven experience supervising others
- Current clearances as required by the laws of Pennsylvania (24 P.S. § 1-111) weapons use/baton use/restrain procedures.
- Experience performing all operations associated with security technology
- Must possess a valid PA Act 235 Certification.
- Must possess a valid PA Concealed Carry Permit
- Must possess your own firearm.
- Must be able to pass the SPO MPOETC Firearms Qualification
- Graduate from Municipal Police Officer Education, Training Commission's Police Academy, State Police Academy, Title 18 Federal Law Enforcement. (Out of State police academies, FLETC graduates, Prior Military Police, Master at Arms, Airforce Security Forces can be considered).
- Bachelor's degree in education, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or related field
- Consent to a drug screen.
- Must be willing to obtain Act 168, Child Abuse, PA State Criminal History and PDE FBI Clearances as required by the Child Protective Services Law and PA School Code.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- No felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude.
- Reliable means of communication (active cell phone with mobile email access).
- Ability to comprehend and utilize the English Language (verbal and written).
- Reliable means of transportation
- Valid PA driver's license with a clean driving record with no at fault accidents for last 10 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- School security experience and Act 67 Certification.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
