Production Technician
Position Overview
The Production Technician is a motivated, detail-oriented individual who works well in a small team setting and is eager to learn about cannabis product manufacturing. The technician works with consumable products with a focus on sanitation and quality in a strict regulatory-compliant production environment. Compensation is full-time hourly with overtime compensation and employment is at-will. This is NOT an extraction or cultivation related position.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure regulatory compliance of personnel and location with federal, state, and local laws and guidelines.
- Knowledge of New York hemp & cannabis laws; previous hemp or cannabis industry experience preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in licensed facilities.
- Operate, clean, and maintain light-manufacturing machines such as filling machines, scales, mixers, pumps, etc.
- Operate, clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment such as analytical scales, hot plates, etc.
- Ensure quality control and production standards are met and create new standards as necessary.
- Ensure all safety precautions are followed during all types of production processes.
- Ensure all production processes are clean, tidy, orderly, organized, and hygienic.
- Daily Cleaning & Sanitizing duties required.
- Perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 lbs
- Follow, review and update Standard Operating Procedures.
- Communicate with the team for daily and mid-range planning, forecasting, inventory, and labor scheduling.
- Ensure all logging procedures and paperwork are expediently completed.
- Maintain mental and emotional calm while performing complex repetitive tasks under a deadline.
- Ability to work within a small team and coordinate day to day labor and activities with thorough and time effective strategies.

- Ability to stand, sit, walk, lift, carry packages up to 50 lbs, and perform fine dexterity tasks. Requires reaching, kneeling, crawling, twisting, and maintaining professional communication.
- Familiarity with FDA, GMP, HACCP, and OSHA regulations is preferred.
Minimum Required Experience:
- One Year of experience in food production or CPG manufacturing preferred.
- Prior experience in licensed cannabis production facility preferred. Regulatory compliance a plus.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of the cannabis industry or a willingness to learn.
- Working knowledge of Seed to Sale Tracking, creating tags, production batches, test samples, transfers, and more.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, comfortable learning new software.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and master manufacturing documents.
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision.
- Background Check Required
- Must be able to individually lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for long periods of time.
